The deal on the cinci craigs list was the 67 L79 AIR Vette Coupe with original paint and original saddle interior for 56k. The paint looked really good...

as far as the hamilton car list the 70 Z28 and 68 Z look to be fairly priced.
If the 68 Z has paper or a decent history it would be difficult to replace for the asking price. Cowl Plenum Rally Green...

Would anybody have an idea on what the pace car is worth? Said to have very solid original body panels and original engine. I am seriously contemplating buying it. Trim tag and vin seem to be correct. It has been stored there for 35 or so years (seller say's) also said to be one of the brass hat cars at the track.

I would have to see the vin and trim tag to give you an idea. Lets say a real nice restored numbers matching example at 70k so you can do the math of the price paid and a full restoration to make it right again. Pretty easy to drop 30K plus these days.

Pace car is real.  I almost bought but the current owner beat me to it years ago.

I'm interested in the 71 396 he's listed. Am I allowed to talk about a 2nd gen here?  ;) But I think his price is pretty steep. Is or has anyone seen these cars in person?

Ad states he has 40 cars in there. I Don't think the prices are too bad If you want real stuff. Go with some money and negotiate.

I know of the car, but I don't know the details about the car - how solid, if the drivetrain is original, etc.
Looks like it could be a big project and that's a high entry fee IMO.

Yes I've decided 18k is too high for a 71, given what I can see in the pictures. A decent paint job/engine clean-up would put me back near 30, before fixing anything that may be mechanically wrong with it. If it was manual or an RS, it would be better. Interior looks nice. I did contact him through Craigslist and it is still for sale, but I've talked myself out of driving up there to see it at that price.

His67PC,
Do you know if the drivetrain is original?

Long time listener, first time caller. I had to comment because I was fortunate enough to pick a few things from this collection a few years back. I'd heard about it for years but Noone was able to ever buy anything till recently. Not the largest collection, but one of the more interesting ones I've went thru. The 67 pacer is a OO car that is fairly solid but needs a total resto. Engine is close but about 10 digits off on the VIN, so not numbers matching. The 68 Z is decent but has had the undercarriage painted body color and had quarter skins which turned me off. The 70 is a darn nice car but 2nd generation aren't my cup of tea. There's also an LS6 numbers car that needs a complete resto he wants 70k for. He's paid $1400 for back in the day. Almost all he's had for many years. An original paint 74 camaro. The 71 seamed like an average project. Needing some metal replacement. The parts collection was more impressive than the cars. All real deal stuff, just a hard core guy to deal with. Pay his price or leave. Many I knew tried to buy a few times and just gave up.  I was surprised to see his stuff advertised on CL. The lack of quality pictures shows he doesn't advertise much lol.

The owner is not the one that Is handling the sale its another guy that is handling the sale for the owner. My understanding is that the owner is in his mid 70's and is kinda set in his ways and would rather not talk to anybody.

Yes it looks like he's having someone else field the calls. Once you pull up to the owners place you immediately get an impression of how he is. Cameras, large signs wanting to impeach every elected official, big dogs. Literally lives with car and parts. One of the most interesting places I've viewed a collection for sure.

Here's the '70 Z28...    http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/5431792212.html
and '71 SS    http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/5431741345.html

Go to the cincinnati craiglist, cars&trucks listed by owner, check for 'Hamilton' or Chevrolet and weed thru?

Kurt, I can't recall if the engine was original.  I was supposed to buy it so I didn't need to document it.

The pace car is confirmed not to have the original engine I still would like to have it but the price however is somewhat firm.

check for 'Hamilton' or Chevrolet
Just a little back story about Hamilton, Oh, which is about an hour N.W. of Cincinnati. That is where the Fisher Body Stamping plant was located. Many "Appalachian" folk migrated to these jobs after WWII, including many from the border state, Kentucky. So, much so, that many know this town affectionately as "Hamiltucky". https://sites.google.com/a/lanepl.org/butler/home/f/fisher-body

That's a nice car!

IF you needed an original Ivy gold interior it would be worth buying to swap out the interior.
