Well I couldn't find the thread about the feature car on the home page that was unlocked. So I am starting this one.
I am curious if more submittals have come in for the feature car, or not.
I really like this feature and want to make sure it keeps going. (I am pretty sure this question is for Bryon)but I wanted to post this in area where everyone would see it , and have the opportunity to submit pics and the story of their car. Or respond if they had further questions of condition, or if their car is worthy. ( any car is worthy IMO)
thanks guys :)
-
Give me a couple more months, hopefully mine will be ready
-
Well i am hoping somebody else may have some pics and info on their car, at the ready.
Bryon do we have info for the next feature car?
-
I sent some pics of my car to Bryon a few weeks ago. This is a nice feature that needs to continue.
-
thanks. I look forward to reading about it ;)
-
We have feature cars lined up for Feb/Mar, Apr/May and Jun/Jul for sure. And one probably for Aug/Sep.
We are keeping pics up for 2 months now. :)
-
right on. Great feature on the CRG.
Please keep us updated if you start running short on submissions.
-
These are feature cars. We are in need of just regular pics too.
-
I gotcha. I just wanted to make sure the feature car continued on, because you said if you didn't get any more submissions it wouldn't continue.
-
It's a great feature and although neither of my cars are any where near being done, I enjoy seeing other members cars. Keep up the good work!
-
I wouldn't mind seeing a feature car, that has been owned since the 70's or early 80's that has a bunch of pics from back in the day, and a current one of what it looks like now...I like all first gen Camaros, and all conditions. Its fun to see them change over the years, from paint to performance, to shag carpet, it all adds to the story IMO.
-
New pics are up. :)
FathomRSZ28 - because the feature car this month was a 69, your car has been delayed a bit - but will be the 69 shown the next time we change pics, in early April.
-
Great writeup and sweet car Mr Shauger.. My God man how many Camaros do you have??!!?? lol
-
Steve: GREAT story, and fantastic car.. :) (If you could dye the interior orange.. it would be near perfect!).. :) :) :)
Serioously, don't change a thing.. it's perfect... and 'driver' is how ALL cars were meant to be.... :)
-
It's always good to see a fellow Long Islander's car. :)

Thanks for the kind words. I knew Gary would have a comment regarding the interior. Yes this car is the one I have the most fun with. I recently sheared the 12 ring gear bolts off (original owner changed to 411's) and for the first time the car let me down. I rebuilt the rear and installed 373's, and as I get older it takes a lot more effort.
I have another orange car and it's not a Chevrolet but its identical in color. BTW Mike its a Brooklyn NY car and originally owned by a famous racer/tuner.

I agree nice write up. Persistence pays off. I am guessing the 3 black cars don't see much road time, so i am glad you are able to get your "Camaro fix " with your original obsession. I see the torq thrusts and the ladder bars and headers, what other mods do you run on the car?
Any other things you still want to do to the car?
(oh yah, whats with all the pictures in the woods from back in the day? They didn't have paved roads back then?) ;D

I also drive my 69 L35 pace car and the black rs/z. I finished the black Z in 2004 and took it to the Camaro Nationals. It needs a hair cut and a shave so I've pulled the exhaust manifold and smog and some suspension components to refinish.
The orange Z engine is running perfect now. I had some carburetor issues with hesitation which turned out to be a power valve. There is an engine vibration which I never had prior to engine rebuild and suspect it's the clutch/ flywheel. This is the second clutch assembly (Luk). The first was Ram, but was defective and wouldn't release completely. I was told they omitted a pressure plate machining operation. Both clutch flywheel assemblies were balanced prior to installation.
The front springs are kind of tired so I may replace those and replace bushing and such. The car has 99k miles from new.
The 373 gears make it more drive able for long distances.

Sounds great. Thanks for your work on this. Let me know if you need anything further from me

I wanted to thank Bryon for doing a superb job on the write-up of my car, and all his efforts maintaining the home page and moderating the site.
-
New pics for April/May have been posted. :)
-
Beautiful cars. Nice write up for Dino's convertible.
-
Very nice cars!
Mike
-
Thank you Bryon for the nice write up on my car and for all the great work you do on this site.
-
You are very welcome dino! And thank you for submitting the pics!
New cars will be posted around June 1.
-
Still looking for more Feature Car submissions with write-ups. Or just pics.
-
Pics for June/July have been posted!
-
Not sure why or how I missed this but that 67 is a very cool ride.. Quick question are the previous Home page featured cars links still active or are they gone forever?
-
I still have the pics but links are gone. Sorta... :)
-
I owe Byron one to send in next month and trust me he follows up! Good work Bryon!
-
A new Feature Car has been posted for February/March. I posted it a day early, since February is a short month, and there were just regular pics up previously (no Feature Car last time).
I do have a car possibly setup for April/May, but no others that I can remember.
Please consider submitting your car with a write-up or at least a pic to post up on the main page.
Steve has been the main contact for submitting pics for a long time. You can send them to me direct, but it is probably best to send them to Steve first.
Send your photos to: sdkar@bellsouth.net
Thank You!

Still looking for pics and Feature Car submissions.
-
Just to tease everyone a bit, there is going to be a REALLY great car coming up as the Feature Car for August/September. I can hardly wait! Also a REALLY great car coming up for October/November. After that, we have nothing in line. SO.......
now would be a good time to consider submitting YOUR car!
We also need just single pics, without a write-up, to include on the homepage.
If the submissions dry up, we will go to whatever pics I can find. I would rather use member cars, but I can't force anyone to do anything.
-
I just sent something on my 68 z/28. See if it works out...Joe
-
I can do a write-up if you need something, or I can send a pic. No one likes red anyway...

Received your pics. I will need a bit more information, and I will contact you again via email. Thanks!

Well I like ALL colors! So, yes, please send me a write-up. I would greatly appreciate it. Since the pics are now staying up for 2 months, it may not be until next year before it gets posted. But I will put you in line.
-
I can't attach pics to the e-mail unless I do it through my outlook express account so I would need your e-mail, I guess.
-
New ice for October/November 2017 are up!
-
I can do a write-up if you need something, or I can send a pic. No one likes red anyway...
Unless your selling the car, then everyone wants "Resale RED", quickest moving color no matter the make and model it seems.

The only reds I've ever owned were 'Arrest me Red'.... :)

Pics for April/May 2018 have been posted.
The 67 and 69 pics are repeats, from 2004.
