I am showing a BT0603G2 pretty clearly, but on my window sticker it shows the car as having 4.10 gears. And BT is showing 3.55. What is it?
-
Are you sure your window sticker is original? What is the build date of the car?
-
I'm with Darrell about the validity of the window sticker. The factory was accurate in regards to the stamping of the rear code.
In addition to the date of the car, what model car too?
Mike

Could the rear have been swapped out?
-
All good questions.
We need more info about your car - year, build month and week, model.
Post a pic of the window sticker if you want opinions on that.
-
Alright, thanks for the replies. I will work on getting some pictures of the window sticker.
-
Yes on the window sticker the ECL codes were different depending on the rear end and cooling options...
-
Here is the window sticker I have...
-
Sorry, I don't know why it is sideways.

Re: sticker, Love how it is equipped and love the exterior color! Could a car that is gold have a dark green interior and a brown top, like this one?
-
I can't say about the 'brown' roof, but I've seen a few gold cars with green interior... (sorta ugh in my opinion)... (I thought they generally had green roofs??)...
-
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome . How else can you explain that order??
The original owner had a plan, and new their color palette .
How could you not go back with that combo?
To me this combo is no different than the Burgundy car with red stripes, not everyones cup of tea, but for the late 60's , I say bring it on! 8)
-
Yeah when I first saw the thing, I had to beg the wife to overlook the color combo! There has been some other things that I question the sticker, RPO N34 Wheel...I don't have that

Have you verified what gear is in your rear end? And also is it a posi? Could the stamp be wrong??
-
Do you have the protect-o-plate?
-
Not sure about the window sticker.
-
Can you tell us the casting date on the center section of the rear axle?

It is a posi, drives like a 4.10, and is 12 bolt. But as far as opening it up, no I haven't done that....But as I am typing this, there is probably a way to count the revolutions. Might look into that...

Unfortunately, that window sticker is not an original. :(

I also agree it is not an original... :(
FWIW The ECL codes are wrong.

Ok, thanks.

Well the good news is , maybe your rear end is original then?
-
I think it could be original. If it has the right casting year.
-
This window sticker is not real.

If you jack up the rear end and spin the wheels, you can figure out what rear end gears are in your housing. If the driveshaft spins ~4.1 times per revolution of the tires, you have 4.10 gears. 3 1/2 times, 3.55s. No need to crack open the diff cover.
