Title: QL rear axle
Post by: crossram on December 03, 2006, 09:59:19 PM
I've read the posts on rear axle codes and wondered what mine decoded as.
It is stamped QL 0302 D2. There appear to be no other stampings. There is the casting number 3894860NF. It is a 12 bolt and appears to be a posi. Did all posi rear ends get the E (or whatever letter) designation under the date code? Rear end is in an 04A, LA built car.

David,

For 1967 the "QL" designation was used on a 3.31 open (non-posi) rear end. Your's was assembled March 2nd but the "D" code is unknown to me. Are you sure it's not a "G", "B", "K" or "W"?

Ed

Sorry that was a typo, should have been a G. Thanks for the reply.
