My car is an RS 1969, Daytona yellow with 350 LM-1 engine, with black roof. Right now I do have the ZL2 hood and rally black stripes (Z28), which is not appropriate for my car.
I already bought an original flat (regular) hood, and I'm wondering about the type of stripes should have been on my car, from the factory.
Correct me if I'm wrong:
Every RS has from the factory, the pack D96, which are very subtle sideway stripes. Now I know an RS could be ordered with DX1, right ? If I choose to go this way, does the car should have both DX1 and D96, or ordering the DX1, then it delete the D96 automatically ?
Any further information is appreciated.
I was using these two very useful thread as information:

10E of 69 X11 non RS car that originally had the DX1 and the D96 so to answer your question; it would have had both..
-
Mine is a prior X's, it's a 9B. Does it help ? Is it possible to have both ? Stil....

D90 was optional.
-
I never taught about D90 as they are SS stipes, mine is an RS.
-
They are not SS stripes, they were a stand alone optional stripe that was included in the SS package. Both the D90 and the DX1s were available to be ordered on most any non SS, Non Z28 Camaro. Very early 69 RS's appear to have been able to be ordered with the D96, and either the D90 or DX1 stipe sets, but later in production (like October/November of 68) the rule became only one stripe package could be ordered on a car. If you ordered an RS with another stripe package the D96 was deleted. The Z28 Rally stripe was not available on any car as an option, except the Z10/Z11 cars.

Did you actually read the link I've post 2 times in your other thread??

I went with the DX1 stripes only on my '69 RS (01C Norwood) when it went into the paint booth back in Jan 2014. Don't see this stripe option as often as the others. Thought about adding the pin striping, but decided in the end to go with just the DX1.

Thanks for the reply Richard. Where did you get yours from ? Ebay ? I love your car, original flat hood, just like I want mine ! Most of the Camaro I see for sale, have all the ZL2 hood with Rally stripes.

I love the paint/stripe combo on Richards car. Might be the only one in the country.... ;D

The shop that had my car from Sep 2013 - April 2014 acquired the stencil kit for the stripes from one of their sources. That being said, the stencils were by no means perfect and they spent around 4 hours the day the car was in the paint booth massaging the lines with blue masking tape to get everything just so. The stencil kit also did not evenly space around the "327" engine badge on the front fender which they also corrected prior to painting.

I am going to have to retract my above statement.. After going back and looking at "as found" photos; the D96 stripes from my memory turned out to be an attempt of someone adding it after purchase. Memory is failing me in my old age. Also ignore the doofus in the one photo.. Apparently he thought he was "super cool" having a Camaro as his first car at age 13.. My apologizes.

DW, Those look more like "Darlington stripes",heh, heh, heh!

Lol... Yeah. The original owner bought the car in the spring of '70 then his neighbor across the street bought it from him around '71-72 and she drove it until '78 when she was "t-boned" and it sat in her garage until '89 when my father and I pulled it home.. I have a funny feeling that I will own it again before its all said and done.
