How do you folks decode this tag:
What does the Q606 mean? Stripe color, body color or what....?
Is that body from the third week of December 1969 or 1970?
It's an RS-car but I don't know anymore since if not my car and I just have this pic of the tag...
The owner is really interested in gettin more facts regarding this.

Tag is December of 68, Van Nuys quit building Camaros in June of 69 after a 10 week strike. The Q606 is the production sequence number for the car, 606th car scheduled to be built on the Q day (17th working day) of the month.

Wow, thanx Mark!
.....of course I meant Dec 68 and 69, sorry! :-\

Hakan, What color is the car now. Can you tell if it's the original color. Those dashes could mean a special non original color or the stripes being deleted. Does sound like an interesting car. Love to hear more about it.

@Rick: According to the owner the car seems all black or very dark blue of rather moment but I don't know if that's the original color? It has a matching number 327 and PG and is a real RS. Interior is ivory houndstooth. It looks untouched since 1969, the owner says!
I'll try to get more pics from to show you guys...... ;)

Very sharp car, RS with black or dark blue over ivory houndstooth; Look forward to pictures Hakan!

And, yes he ha a another 69 that is under construction, itīs going to be a modified Pro Tourer!
The RS looks really great from what I can tell from this pics! Really like the dog dish and white stripe tires! But wasīt the trim ring for the SS wheels only?

I'd love to see more photos, but I'm guessing the interior has been re-upholstered based on the pix to now...?

Yes, I've seen that but was the P06 an option to the base hub cap and not standard on a SS base car?
I thought I've seen in that in a sakes brochure.....?
-
P06 was independent of the SS option.

Ok, good to know! :) But were the SS-base steel Wheels painted silver or the same as the car together with the dog dish cap?
Here are the pics I was referring to earlier, itīs hard to see the paint of the wheels.:

I tried to buy an ss rs that had those. I like them

Here is my car soon after purchase, circa 1979. It has/had PO6 when I bought the car. The rims have body color paint, but over the blue paint is silver paint? Whenever it was done or whoever did it, the tires where not mounted as the silver is on the inside where the tire mounts. I just so happen to have these in there as found state & can get a pic later. I am not saying these are factory how the rims left and I am not trying to muddy the facts. I know of no other pic on the net showing them the way I describe.
This is a 3 owner car & I can call the prior owner & see if he did this, but it will be awhile.

They should be body colored wheels. Sure not much left to see though....
