Any idea why CRG works well on my phone while connected to wifi, but I get a white screen with "forbidden" on it when I try to connect via LTE?
Thanks.

sounds as if a firewall on the data network is blocking access to the site. Clear all your phone browser cookies and see if that allows if not then CRG's server may be blocking your LTE address ranges due to someone in the past using that range to spam sites. Most subscribe to a commercial package of known spam ip addresses called a black list. But those particulars are best left for Kurt to address with his hosting service. What ip address does your LTE connection grab?

Unfortunately I have no idea what IP they're using. I'll give the cookie clear a shot. Thanks.
-
Once you are connected go to settings and then under network if you are using ios.
-
I don't know of any IP's that are blocked for the site.
Some IP's are blocked from signing into the forum, but that doesn't sound like the problem here.

Thanks guys. I cleared the cookies, but it didn't fix it. I'm able to see the CRG home page, but I get the forbidden message when I try to go into the forums area. It's the only place on the net that I've had this happen.

I would take it up with your service provider or find someone in your area on the same service and see if they get the same error. T-Mobil?
-
I have a similar issue when using my work computer, I can look at the main public CRG pages but if I click on the button to take me to the forum, I get an error message stating that the page is forbidden because it requires me to log in. I don't get an opportunity to log in though, not sure why. Used to work before the site upgrade.

I would call the service provider, but like Tim, it worked fine before the "upgrade" and it's the only site that does it. I'll live, just annoying. Thanks.

The second error would indicate that your authorization credentials were dropped, but then the page would just display as a non logged in visitor not prevent you from seeing the page unless you were in your account settings page.
Tim who is your work's ISP and does it happen in all browsers, ie 11, FireFox 42 and Chrome?
Kurt does your hosting service supply you with site traffic metrics and does that include blocked access attempts?
-
Thanks Brian,
Not sure on our corporate ISP, I work for a state government agency and this happens both on the corporate LAN and the wireless network, WinXP (I'll have to double-check the version of IE we are using), plus on a work iPad (iOS v8.xx) accessing the Internet via VPN.
I will take a screenshot of the error message; have been convinced it's an issue at my end, but don't understand why (as you said) it doesn't recognise me as a non-logged in user and prompt me for username and pw.....
-
Sounds as if your government agency is using a corporate firewall appliance and that CEG most likely is having cookies or credentials stripped off by that device.

I've never seen a blocked access report on the site level - shouldn't have any.
But I can see it on the forum level. Dave/Tim, send me an email and we'll try a test or two.

Thanks Kurt. I'll do that when I have access to my phone tonight. I work in a secure building so no cell phones...

Kurt - I'll send you the error message screenshot.

Dump your saved passwords. I figured it out last night. I cleared the cash, cookies etc and nothing changed. Then I realized the phone was saving passwords.
-
Makes sense bad credentials being passed. Had you changed your password recently?
-
Nope and nope.
-
Darrell I was having the same problem a while back. Tried just now, and it works fine. Not sure why.

Im not sure. I must not be doing something correctly..
