The car, a Convertible (VIN number 124678N456343), was on ebay several times back in 2008 by seller westportautocenter out of St Louis, MO, and advertised as a "68 SUPER SPORT NUMBERS MATCHING ENGINE TRANNY X CLEAN!!"
The selling price was $26,895, so if the currently seller of the engine is correct with his numbers, someone didn't get what was advertised. Can you tell what kind of car (or truck) that engine's in? It's not a Camaro. Going by the single reservoir master cylinder and the long extension on the steering box, maybe a mid 60's Chevelle or full size?
By the way, here's the car when it appeared on ebay.

The block may very well be from a 68 Camaro. At this point I would not be 100 percent sure.
Why? Well here is how the stamped numbers are listed in the auction. "stamped number 18v456343 and 706i7MA"
I asked for a picture. Hopefully we get one and that may clarify things...

There is now a pic of the pad in the auction. I am just not 100 percent sure that is the VIN.

I agree. I think it's 18N455343, not 18N456343. If that's the case, please remove my above post.

The seller sent me this last night:
Hi Ed, I checked again and it's 456. It's a very light stamping and the light has to move from side to side to see it.
