Title: earliest 69 copo??
Post by: keech on September 26, 2015, 10:06:00 PM
looked at a car today that was built 11D of 1968 .    54xxxx VIN.   A cowl hood yenko/copo car.   How can this be a legit car with this build date/VIN?
I thought the first cowl hood was on the first ZL1 which I believe was a January car.    Could this be legit?   Steve

It is not a COPO. Way too early.

The first COPO built is the very well documented ZL1 #1 N569358 final-assembled December 30, 1968. It and a Z/28 at Van Nuys are the first known ducted hood '69s.

and don't forget, that is also my B-day! It was in the stars that I would be a Camaro Man, except I was born 8 years earlier. :-[
