Title: '68 Z/28
Post by: dannystarr on August 04, 2015, 08:18:39 AM
Looks like it's all there.. Nice color.. Early car like Chicks with "302" emblems. Also cowl plenum and headers. Wonder what it will bid to? Danny

Wow, no reserve. That would be a classy looking car when finished. Is there any research that indicates how many cars came with the cowl plenum, or headers for 67 or 68? Is the only place it could be documented, be on the window sticker?

Wasn't there a pair of manifolds in the one picture? I saw the headers on the car.

I've noticed on the cowl plenum cars the cut out in the firewall is pretty ragged and looks hand cut, but does anybody know if they had a template or guide to go by when cutting this out? Did they cut these out as the car was going down the assembly line? Hopefully someone on here will snatch it up and continue to post about it. Will be a really nice car when done!

Yes they included a template, however some were extremely crude using a drill to drill holes the perimeter etc.
This car would be incredible done.
I am going to assume they accidentally left out a photo of the unique 68 warranty book feature... If you have a 68 warranty book you'll know.

I do like the color and nice options. My niece is heading to Knoxville to school next week. We could haul her down and car back. My sister would be so excited lol

That plenum air hole wasn't cut at the assembly plant - the duct and adapter parts and an instruction sheet went in a box in the trunk for installation by the dealer or owner.

Thanks John. I thought I had read somewhere that it was a dealer or owner installed item but wasn't for sure.

Were you able to conclude the engine is original and stamps were legit?
