Title: 68 camaro 7 blade fan 3931002
Post by: 68rs327conv on November 17, 2006, 10:12:40 PM
I have a 68 327/210hp RS vert with factory AC, so it would have the HD Radiator.  It has a 3931002 K67 7 blade fan with clutch.  Date looks reasonable for for 01C build date. I have owned car for past 20 years.  However I don't see this listed in the assembly manual anywhere and looking at the CRG research section I don't see listed either.  Was a 7 blade fan an option in 68, can anyone with factory ac confirm

I tried a search and came up with nothing

Thanks in advance for your help

Mike

Yeah, I had read that, just seemed odd that the 7 blade appears to be date correct.

I've never seen one before in a first gen (not that I've looked that hard).
That part # does not show up in several Camaro only parts manuals nor in the AIM.
P&A34 and P&A30 (they cover more than just Camaros) list it though (go figure).
Applications shown:
68 Pass w/CAC 396 & 427
68 Nova w/CAC 307
68 Camaro w/CAC V8 exc 396
68 Chevelle w/CAC V8 exc 327 HP
68 Chevelle 327 HP exc CAC

At this point, it would be nice to hear from some other 68 owners with small blocks and AC and hear what fan is on their cars.

Hi, In reference to the 3931002 7 blade fans, can anyone help me decode the 4 digit stamp that is located on the front or only one fan blade?
Clearly the date plays a role but it's the 4th "lone letter" that peaks my curiosity.

Here are two examples of the single stamp on 3931002 fans:
K67 fan stamped with M67 E
K67 fan stamped with M67 Z

I own the M67 Z fan and as you can imagine, I'm thinking that anything made in 1967 (68 MY) with a "Z" stamped on it might be worth decoding!
Thanks very much and happy holidays!

My 68 Camaro RS 327 / 275 with factory AC,Auto, has the 7 blade fan 3931002.I believe it is the original to the Camaro. My car was mostly original and unrestored when I purchased it years ago.

What's the build date and engine date? Is there a date on the fan?
Strange fan in that it doesn't seem to appear in any literature or on many cars.

Just looked up 3931002 in my 1969 part's book it list this fan blade for 68 Camaro s/b w/ac w/o 396. The plot thickens! Also any body 6 blade fan that is identical to the 302 & 396 blade.
