Just ran across this for sale ad and didn't see any info already posted about it:

By the VIN, that engine would have been in a late February Los Angeles Camaro...  engine assembly in mid Feb would be appropriate... looks good from the data provided....  Wouldn't it be a good thing if the owner of that Camaro located his engine via this thread?  :)

If the 302 short block is not original to my car, why is it worth anywhere near $4500? If it's not the original engine, I'd just build a 302 on my own.
I might be interested in a real DZ block, but not at anywhere near that price.

I have a orphan DZ 392 short block for sale . It's a LA vin , 618 block ,19L 524957 , B4 9, it was removed from the original car in 1973. I have been saving it but now I think I should sell it . Ask all questions you might have . It's on eBay now. $4,500 cash  (831)595-8892
