I have studied these pics until my eyes are crossed. I need few other sets to look it over and see if anyone else can tell me if this car is a NOR or LOS? BTW these are the best and only ones known to exist (photos)...

IS there part of a B or a P just to the right of the drivers side wiper hose?
IF so you know that would indicate NOR.
You saw the MO on the pass side head, I'm sure.
Race car? It appears to have dummy Vac adv pod, like in a ZL1.

Wasn't there some discussion on how the cowl was painted at LA & Norwood?....Joe

James if you are seeing a B or P you have better eyes than I.. Yes I have noted the MO and as for it being a race car... The story goes that the guy when he was a senior in high school had a friends dad that ran a 67 Z in Trans Am along with Penske & Donohue Camaro is what drove him to want one so he went to his local dealership and sat down with a salesman (which had never heard of a Z) and found all the options and ordered the car.. After less than a year after ordering it he moved to Cali to go to college and sold the car in either Cal or TX (that portion still remains uncertain). Then he found and bought a Lola..

Anyone have access to Photoshop ? The tag is nearly legible, enhancement might get the top sequence line for you.
Wish I could accomodate -

Steve

I was wondering if the tag has white paint or it's just a bright reflection in the photo. If it was white then I would think it was a Norwood car. If I remember right, spraying the tag white was a Norwood thing between 67 & early 68?

Mike, I think what you are seeing is the reflection. I believe the car is a NOR but at this point I can not confirm.

I had a free version but it lapsed before I got the pics.. I might try to download another one..
-
I tried the free download, but it's for Windows 7 (my dinosaur PC is XP). Really tantalizing - so close to reading it, but like you say you could go blind trying to make it out.
Still, a pretty good amateur photo to be that clear after being reshot, and not digital to start with -

I use PS extensively so I downloaded and tried to enlarge the image using various methods and also applying an unsharp mask and deconvolution but there is not enough pixel information to see what the tag has stamped.

I'm with James, That could be a P or B between the hose and the booster.

Here it is isolated and punched up a little. Pretty hard to make out that area... Danny

Brought it way down and looked with glasses and high powered magnifier and still can't tell.. D

Don't know but going to guess LOS due to alternator brackets in back of alternator. Due to other pics I have to believe there were Z/28's coming out of there with the brackets attached to the back of the alternator. :)

I've about exhausted all I know how to do online - only thing I haven't tried was sending it to CSI.
Surely we have some law enforcement contacts with access to a state forensic lab ?
I'm gonna quit before I become too obsessed - lol

Does the tag look like it's missing a rivet on the left (passenger) side of the tag ? Can't swear too it, but it looks like it, with the tag either loose or sticking out away from the firewall. Have I stared at it long enough to be seeing things ?
Just a thought - looking for any "fingerprints". I even tried to see spot weld spacing on the passenger fender to compare to the present fender - no go.

I know Steve, I have spent hours look at this car and mine to try and draw conclusions as to whether or not they are one in the same but can not. I do have a similar tape line on the cowl panel for the stripes.. But then there are slight differences which make me think different.. Im not sure if the tag is missing a rivet or not. Might be the shadowing, glare and quality making it look that way.. Just too damn low of quality to be able to zoom in enough..
