Title: oil pressure fitting
Post by: Axlman on April 20, 2015, 12:09:50 AM
Can anyone tell me what fitting goes onto the oil pressure gauge/light in the 67 rs/ss with console gauges?
I bought a new line and have to connect to the back.

Thanks.

I had a problem finding a fitting that would engage enough thread on the back of the gauge. I purchased the correct black line kit from Heart Beat City but it only caught about 1 thread.
The brass nut that tightens down on the ferrel is too short.
I had plenty of old fittings in my parts stash so found something that would work.
It came from a VDO line kit.

This is what's on the back of my oil gauge.

Ok. Quite embarrassing but I shall confess.
I did not realize that the back of the fitting on the gauge has inside threads. Spent some time looking for a female fitting to reduce to the oil line with no results of course.
Then I actually looked at it and saw the internal threads. AND BAM, there it was.
Thanks to all for the help:)
