Looking for a rally wheel paint that is ready to go in a spray can. Just going to shoot the 15 X 7's I just got. Doesn't have to be exact. Just something that looks somewhat close to the original finish. I have found 6 different ones?? OER has one, Summit has one, there are many . And price ranged from 11 bucks a can all the way up to nearly $40 a can. Is the low dollar stuff any good?.. Danny

Just did this research and what seems to be the best choice is Krylon Dull Aluminum 1403 about $7 a can and a near perfect match for original

I looked and there was 3 or 4 different ones with the 1403 code. They all say metallic, I don't think I want metallic, right? Is it one of these?... D

Danny not sure..I just ordered mine from Amazon and it is metallic. Maybe someone else has more info. BTW it was the following that was the reason I went with the Krylon:

Jerry, whose paint do you recommend for ’67 Z28 rally wheels? Thanks. CHPTexas

Have perfect paint for you. Krylon #1403 dull aluminum. It’s the most perfect version of Argent silver there is. And best yet, it comes in a spray can.

We used to buy non smudge aluminum at the DuPont paint store back in the day in a can it matched well on the Corvette rally's.

Jack, can you look at your can and see if it matches one of the pictures I posted. Does the paint look metallic, or is a nice dull finish. I just don't want to order a bunch of cans and have them be too metallic looking. Anybody know if metallic is just THAT line of paint? I just hot tanked all 5 wheels, I sure don't wanna do it again after painting the wheels...D

Paint is not metallic looking. Dull Aluminium describes it perfectly. I'm pleased with the way they look.

Any paint that is not solid is referred to as metallic or pearl. It's the size and facets of the metallic flakes that vary. Krylon Dull Aluminum does look metallic; without finely ground metallic it would not appear as it does.

Thanx for all the info.. I am heading out today to find the 1403, as there is none with-in 20 miles. I may just order from Amazon and be done with it... D

NOBODY has it anywhere close to me. Closest in stock was LA. So ordered a case of 12 from O'Reilly, be here Tuesday.
NOW, what black should I use on the rest of the rim. .. D
