Hi All. Trying to figure out the correct fasteners and plating for the washer bottle bracket. The ones on there are phos finish (don't have the head marking info at the moment).....the ones that come in the kit are silver and have caps that go over the exposed threads...which are shown in the manual. Again - can't tell you (at the moment) the markings on those either. Thanks!

the original screws had plastic caps that are not being reproduced Hearbeat supplys a rubber vacuum cap which is similar but not correct. Im thinking I have a picture on my home computer - I'll see if I can find and post it up

here you go

ID x OD x LG ??
Thanks

I dont know, someone else took the pics. seems like would be simple enough to reproduce

Thanks for the cap info Rich - much appreciated. I assume the caps are used on all of the bolts....both on inner fender and bottle bracket? I'm going to see if I can source those caps. Would you say those screws were silver cad plated?

One more pic ,originals off of my car ;) 8)
Yes, the 3 screws that mount bracket to the inner fender also get a cap, but it is smaller. BTW, I have three of these brackets and each example has a different type screw mounting the bracket to inner fender?? Not sure why. Would like to see what others have hardware wise. AIM Z22,B4, item #4, 9420890 (qty.3) is the screw for bracket to inner fender used. 3767304 is cap for that screw.
Here is a hint of a source to make your own: http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/shop_parts/diesel_injector_plug/mercedes_benz/300d.html

Another great pic - thanks! Are those MB plugs closed on one end?

Yep, that is why they are a PLUG. I use to put these on cars. It goes on last injector to plug it off. Just my own thought to use these for this purpose because they are squared off at the top. They are rubber, not plastic, but who will know? Take a razor knife and cut length of them down to fit.

Haha - I had to ask....hard to tell in the pic. Thanks again.

I now someone who had a thousand or so made by a plastics injection molder from an original cap he had on a survivor. Total cost was about $600.

Rich, would you measure and post the length of the caps please?

Wow, he had a whole batch made from one, and likely only used 3 of the 600. What happened to the rest?

The simulated caps that were on the 10 10 RS/Z survivor (that James made up?) were discarded when I discovered they were not original. They appeared to be made from a fiberous material (rather than plastic per the originals) so I replaced them with an original set I located at the time.

Dave Beem had 1000 or so injection molded 3-4 years ago from a set of originals...
He put a set on the 4 different RS's he had and the last I asked about them he told me he had given the remainder away to a bunch of guys with RS's at car shows and friends. .
