Not 100% clear if the $1800 asking price is for the block, 1178 crank and pistons/rods (how many?), or just the block. Might even be a Tonawanda block.

The add states 302 short block which would indicate that the rotating assembly is included in the price. Still would want more detail about the parts.

Agreed. But the wording is not totally clear, and only the block features in the ad photos. I've contacted a number of sellers in the past only to find they think a "short" block means "bare" block.
So I would also not assume seller has 8 pistons and 8 rods too.

The seller states, sold as a package, not going to separate.I would think it's for all the parts.

'short block' to me indicates that it's an 'assembled' short block, with all internal parts, minus the heads and intake, and other peripherals.

If it's a short block, it is as assembled from the factory (with usage and age?), or is it a newly assembled (rebuilt) short block?

If it's not assembled, then he has the 'parts to assemble a short block'...

Yes it is mine.  I have not rebuilt it allowing the purchaser the opportunity  to  use the machine shop of their choice to do the work.  I know what it is like buying a used, rebuilt, engine.  This is a shortblock as I have known them to be sold.  It is completely disassembled.  Long blocks come with the heads, oil pans and usually  timing covers.  I  do not have those  parts.  I have an extra windage tray but no studs.  I have access to two bare cylinder heads but not matching.  The price is negotiable but as stated in my add I am not looking to separate it only unless some wanted the block.  Someone contacted me about the crank.  I have two cranks and they are not hard to get.  I have a 68 and have an engine for it.  When I put the  add on, I was at work  and only had access  to pictures of the block.  I  wanted to check the crank and see what it measured at.  I  never thought someone on here would pick up the add and run with  it.   Someone in my area had a wanted add for  an engine so I thought I would put it on. Check the ad again.  I have more pictures  of the parts
