Thanx, I found one at HB City with the same number but it has a YM after it. Wonder what the "P" is, and what the "YM" stands for...? It says it is for a '67 Camaro, and pre August 27th '68 Camaro. So I am starting to think this is incorrect for my May/June '68... D
-
The YM would correspond with the broadcast code printed on the build sheet.
I'm not certain about the P, best guess .... P - Positive
-
YM? I've never seen that code on a 67.
BW = SB w/ R59 in 67.

I just realized that both of my cables appear to be original, they have just had the ends cut? Are these numbers correct for my May '68 Camaro? ... D
Positive = 6290590BV
Negative = 2986167EH

Probably Danny. My '69 P&A list the service replacement cables as...
+ 6290591
- 2985652

Quite common to cut the spring ring off and use a clamp type with cross bolt. It is something to check on some of the less molested cars just to see if they are the originals. I sometimes forget to check them unless the spring ring is still there.

I have to check how long they are, as I might try to repair them in the future. I have lead, ladle, torch for when we used to do lead and oakum joints in waste lines and rain water leaders. I can find cheaper versions of the same era so the spring ring matches, and cut the cable off or try to pull them out so I don't lose any inches. Then drill it bigger put the end in and pour in the lead. Problem is, I think they may have been cut and cleaned and stripped to many times?? .. Danny

Danny, if it helps my '69 P&A list the service replacement cables as being this long...
+ 6290591: 48" center to center holes
- 2985652: 29" center to center holes

Danny.....FYI, my Z28 has the same numbers on the cables.
