As I was looking over the cars at Mecum today, I caught this out of the corner of my eye thinking that doesn't look right...
-
Bill, I am surprised! Don't you know your rare options. That is the rare: I don't know anything about Camaros or WTF I am doing option. LOL, Good catch.
P.S. Not that rare of an option anymore. Becoming more and more common these days.

How was the car being represented? Not unusual for an an overflow to be adapted to a car. What about that fuel filter? So many things wrong with cars at these puffed up auctions. Many who have no clue about body and paint are buying hacked together butchery. Same as most cars sold on the internet. It's at an auction so the quality must be superb.

Is that one of those lever type battery disconnects I'm seeing?
-
I bet there's a window sticker and p.o.p. With it, I will see how it's coded tomorrow!
I did see a super nice 68 rally green z today that the owner might be on here. Right beside it was an interesting red base v8 car with a nice paint job. I looked in the trunk to see hacked up outer wheelhouse. You have to be careful checking to see if quarters were cut off. You might need a tetanus shot

Not a bad solution, as long as you don't need the windshield washers.
-
It "WOULD" pass tech at a local track here for Fri Night street tire drags!
No Catch No RUN!
-
Maybe that's some of the new windshield washer deice solution??

I've done it and it works.

X2. It was required when I raced my Z28 at Baylands Raceway. :)

That Fremont location was a good one, I wish they wouldn't have shut it down. A lot more street racing took place after that

Yup, it keep me out of trouble during high school. Between drag racing and motocross racing, if I wasn't doing homework, I was prepping my Camaros and dirt bikes for the next race.

I used to race BMX over there as well during the early 80's.

Cool! Me too, but in Oakland. I still have my Champion BMX bike! :)

Thats funny. I had a 1983 diamondback silver streak that got stolen in early 84. I got the wild idea of finding a 83 silver streak last year, I had no idea they were so expensive. I have about 95% of the parts now. Kind of a back burner resto project.
Sorry to get off topic.

Me, too.

Back in the day I taped a plastic water bottle to my firewall, and ran the overflow into it. YEP it passed tech. I ran 14.30 in my stock 65 Mustang on my first pass!
That was respectable back then....
-
Soooo...if you raced at Fremont, how about at Half Moon Bay drag strip/airport. remember Garlits, Tommy Ivo, etc.
-
Well I raced at Sears point ( I think its called Infineon now). Fremont was long gone by the time I got into High school.
I also never made it to Half Moon bay to drag, BUT they do have a "Dream Machine" car show at the airfield every year that is a great show.
Paul may have made t out there when they raced...

BillOhio, you mentioned in your post about a rallye green 68 Z, got a name or ph#. Could be the one pictured on CRG homepage. My 04a Z is rallye green and I like to bump heads with other rallye green 68 Z's, thanks.

The RG Z is on Jerrys site as a customer car and says Brian of Lynnbrook NY.
Very pretty car and I thought it would be the top 68. It sold like like 830 tonight. Says it went 55,000. The other 68 I looked over, was black but originally bronze. The trunk was shut until right before the sale and it had a mat in it and damp. There were some pencil lead sized holes. Also had a Lakewood bellhousing. some how it brings 57500.
