Title: cracked dash?
Post by: 1968z28 on December 17, 2014, 03:59:25 PM
got a crack in my 68 dash.  where is best place to get replacement?  or can a crack be fixed and not show?  the dash seems brittle.
thanks

I assume you mean the pad, since you described it as brittle.

Yes, a crack in the dash pad can be repaired, but unless it is in a vey inconspicuous place, it will show.  My 68 dash was brittle and cracking on both ends right at the top. The more I tried to repair it, the more cracks grew and showed.  Last year when I had some interior work done, I decided it was time to replace it.

I'm going to let some of the guys that do multiple restorations tell you where to buy....

Good luck in whatever you decide!  ;D

I've never personally used them, but you can try Just Dashes in CA, www.justdashes.com , (800)247-3274. Been around a pretty good while -

Just Dashes completed dashes look over stuffed or just down out fat. Best I have seen for 68 dashes hands down at a very affordable price is Al Knoch Interiors. When they first started doing them a few years ago it was only $125. Not sure what they are charging currently!

Sent my 68 dash to Al Knoch in 2013 and it turned out great. Cost $185 plus shipping. Turn around was pretty quick too.
