Title: 68 Camaro TH400 mount
Post by: SS396 on November 12, 2014, 05:30:58 AM
Bought a repo TH400 mount the other day from one of the Camaro restoration companies and it's a real piece of junk made in Korea. Does any know where I can buy a half decent one ? I would prefer a genuine GM one, but realise they are near impossible to find.

As mine is a 396 with TH400 the part number given to me for the mount was 3872247. Not 100% sure as there is that many part numbers for these mounts with different applications. Done web search for your number and still nothing available.

SS396,
3872247 with orange paint marking is the 67 1st design ( 4 1/4" between bolt hole centers). 3895831 with white paint marking is the 67 2nd design and is used in subsequent years. Maybe some one knows when this change took place but it would have been done sometime between Jan. 67 and end of 67 production.

Mike,
Made new topic in Originality. Have no idea why the change but not for bolt centers as the tail housings 8624496 are the same.
