Title: #82
Post by: crobjones2 on October 10, 2014, 01:23:28 AM
While cleaning and repairing my 69, I have come across the #82 on several pieces.  The heater core box(pictured), the inside of the fan/ evap suitcase, on the bottom of the evap, back center of the gauge cluster, and on the air distribution duct. the one on the heater box is red the rest are yellow.
has anyone else seen this pattern? know what it was for? was there an RPO 82? or maybe the X82nd car on the line that day?

That's the final assembly sequence number for that car - assigned in the Chevrolet Body Bank and printed in the upper left box on the Body Broadcast sheet.

Coincidence. The parts you posted about first were all Chevrolet-installed, and the door trim panels were installed in the Fisher Body Trim Shop, before the body was shipped to Chevrolet.
