Title: 1969 X66 Convertible Parts Paint Colors
Post by: fatcatsupholstery on October 09, 2014, 07:45:43 PM
Needing help with paint color info for drive train and parts. Is there an accessible list or break down somewhere that would help? In the middle of a 1969 X66 convertible restoration with original drive train. Wanting to make everything correct. Has been in family for almost 35 years. Want to see it back to what it looked like when it rolled off the assembly line.

Thanks in advance for the help!

Also need help with wheels. Oldest pics I have of the car show the car with rally wheels but I don't know if they would have been original. Car is an 02A build. Would build date have played any part in rally or hub caps? Again, thanks for the help!

You can pick up Jerry McNeish's book Distinctive 69 Z28 and SS. In the back there is a parts list with the correct finishes listed. Also First Gen Addict on this site is working on a 69 X66 car that is very original. He may be able to help you with colors.

You can also do a search at this site and camaros.net. The information is contained in numerous posts. The list is out here as well. You should post some pictures. There are a lot of great knowledgable guys out here who are happy to help out with specific questions. Good luck.

You could order Rally wheels on any model Camaro.  If you did not order any optional wheels or hubcaps, you got the base steel wheel.  In the case of an SS, it would be the 14x7 XT painted steel wheel with dog dish habcaps.
