Title: custom striped Z I saw this weekend
Post by: BillOhio on August 18, 2014, 02:13:07 PM
Was at a show I went to Saturday. I thought the tag appeared real. 10-10 with dark blue interior. X33d80. Paint appeared to be old lacquer that was checked.

Seems like I have seen that car before, and it appeared to be a very old and possibly original paint.

You must have been at the Clintonville Car Show held at the Park Of Roses. The Camaro is mine. I have owned it since November 1983. It is a factory black car with dark blue interior. True numbers matching 69 Z-28. And yes, it has mostly original paint on it. The design in the stripes was done back in the 70's. It is called endless lines. I just recently got it back on the road after pulling the engine & trans last year to fix a rear main seal leak and do a little clean up under the hood. In the process, I documented every part under the hood and all date codes.

Most everyone who looks at it likes the stripes and tells me to not do away with them.

Thanks for checking out my Z!!

Larry

Real nice car! Love the combination of BITD and original. Best of both worlds (except to a purist). Even better that it belongs to a fellow CRGer. Thanks Bill and Larry.

I would leave it like it is! Very cool. I had my red GTX there up toward the food. Nice show but left about 3 when we saw showers moving in. Got to a mile of my buddies in Hilliard and started to shower.
Anymore shows you might get to? I was in Powell a week ago. Might try the zoo which I thinks October

Bill,

I usually attend the Car Show at the zoo, which is in early October. Don't know yet if I will take the Z. I also left about 2 o'clock to go to another car show & Pig Roast in Lithopolis. Ended up driving the new 2013 RS Camaro(Black w/ white stripes, of course) because it had started to rain.

So where is Clintonville in relation to 71? North of 5th Ave, but south of Worthington?

I got there off 23 and was south of Henderson. Real nice park with big shade trees. I think I was over 200 in the number of cars.

I love Black over Blue Guts...
Thats only the 2nd Black over Blue 69 Z28 I have seen, the other was a late oct or early nov 1969 built car with a 6500 redline tach and wrong engine.

Great Car!

That car need era correct wheels like Cragars sized accordingly front and rear, with proper tires to go with the endless line, and ladder bars. Then it will be a suitable candidate for http://70sstreetmachines.tumblr.com/linkage

Larry, like the stripes, those were very popular back in the early 70's.  I, myself like the "Day 2" theme.
