Title: 6 cylinder water pump data needed
Post by: bcmiller on August 14, 2014, 07:49:51 PM
I am putting together some information on water pumps used on 67-69 Camaros.

If you have an original water pump from an L6 230 or 250 cubic inch engine, please post a picture.  Please try to include the casting number and date code in the picture or pictures.

Thanks!

Bryon:

I bought my 68 Camaro in 1987 with a matching number l-250. The pump has the number 16 cast in it and is stamped 30454 with the letter "A" just below the numbers. I believe that the pump is original but can't be sure.

Thanks for posting Mike.  We think that may be a later pump, based on the numbers and it having more than 4 holes to mount the fan.

Casting number should be 3788476 as far as we know.  Do you see that number on there anywhere?

Jon Mello helped me find this picture attached.

Here are two more pics.  One shows a J 19 6 casting date.  We believe this casting number may have been used in 67, 68 and 69 but we need more data.  So please post if you can.
