Post by: jack92584 on August 08, 2014, 05:38:55 PM
File this under joke of the day. X44 tag for sale for $225. Whats really funny is there have been 2 offers for it that were declined.

I'm not up on X codes so I had to look it up at CRG ( http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=949.0 ) .
It sounds to me that unless you have paperwork to back up a COPO claim, an X44 can be a plane Jane?

Yes it can. My base 307 coupe is tagged as an X44 which is the code for a base model camaro. All Norwood camaros had the X codes starting around the third week of December 1968.

Oops! Thanks guys! Wasn't sure if it was second or third week on the X-codes so I went with third to be safe. Any documented cars that anyone knows of with an earlier X-code prior to the second week?

copo,   central office production order,  which we all know,   but that was the same forums use to get the base model stuff too wasnt it,  like cop cars, cabs, etc....    So i guess he has used "choice wording" in the description

Is it the picture or does it look like it was stamped from the front and lettering is indented?
