Title: Brake Booster code and date stamp
Post by: jack on August 03, 2014, 01:15:03 AM
HI,

I have notice that the application code for the booster stamped on a tab on the top right of the booster is 2083 for my Camaro 1969.  The Julian date is stamped on the other side of the tab is 1942. My code should be 9204, having disc brake in front.

My booster belongs to which car?  Julian Date 1942, can that be?

Please see picture of tag with application code. You will notice that the code is stamped up-side-down.

Thanks

I would think 71-72 Nova w/ discs, which would explain a 194 of 2 Julian date. Speculation at this point -

Hi

I found that the application code is 1942. This was for a 1971-1972 A-Body. SO I will be replacing mines for a 9204 booster.

There are many on the market. What will be the best date be for a camaro 1969  12D Norwood?

Is a date code 311 or 321 better?

Thanks

Either would probably work, although they both are a ways out. Read this:

There are lot of threads devoted to boosters here - search "brake booster" and you'll see a bunch of discussions -

My 69Z is 12D Norwood just like Jacks.  Still has it's original booster I could get the date from if it helps, but his post is nearly a year and a half old, I'd guess he probably replaced it by now.

Hey you never know. If he's anything like me he could be still looking. And it's always good data for the next guy researching this topic.

Thanks Guys

and Thank you X33RS. Wow your Brake Booster was built close to the built of your car.

Sorry for the delay, I had to put my SS on the side for a while for family reasons...
