Title: Date code of part boxes

Hi

On NOS boxes, I notice that there is always a date code (I think). We got the part number, the groupe number and the date code. Example, I found NOS door handle for my 1969 Camaro and the box we has inscriptions:
75C9
3064224
Gr. 10.527

Is 75C9 a date code?

Likely -

Date codes appeared a lot of times not only on the labels, but also on the boxes themselves. I have seen plenty of examples both ways -

 If you are finding the date on a flap that folds into the carton the printer would have been the one to have done that as most customers do not spec dates on the outside of the carton. Often printers put info including registration marks and color bars on glue seams where they are not visible unless you rip apart the package. 
I sold paperboard rolls and sheets to Folding Carton Plants, as a matter of fact Flashfold Carton (2nd photo) was a customer of mine so this is first hand info.
the 2 cartons below are for 70-73 Z28 Bowtie centercaps
The original type raised logo NOS caps came from the 84 dated carton and the later style from the 89 dated carton.

And yet, sometimes the date codes/package markings make little sense from carton to part.

Note the date code on this 9/68 NOS 4919674 coil - you guys with '69 RS cars know this part - discontinued in the mid-late 70's, manufactured 9/68 but the box flap makes no sense date-code wise (if it is a date code). Wagner Box in Buffalo was the carton manufacturer, for Rochester Operations, Rochester, NY.

Back in the good 'ole days when it was made in the U.S., packaged in the U.S., used on the best.
