Title: Carter Quad #?
Post by: jockwalker on July 06, 2014, 07:41:01 PM
I have narrowed down what Carter Quad I need for my 67rs that was built Dec. 7, 1966. (California A.I.R.) automatic tranny. The early carb 7037202 or the mid carb 7037212. Anyone have thought about the correct carb?

I would say early is more accurate. The limited amount of "mid" Q-jets I have seen were dated around Feb 67.

I have an early Feb. LOS '67 RS 327 and I understand that the early carb would have been on mine. 7027202 (no A.I.R.)  That's now what I have after removing the parts store rebuilt one I had on there.  I think I remember that late Feb. was the change but don't remember where I got that.  Maybe here or Team Camaro.  I'd have to dig up my old threads.

I have been looking for a 7037210 for years now (67 BB 396 with auto and A.I.R. mid production 3rd week of March) about every day or so and I have come to the conclusion that there are none left.  Except maybe the ones already on the car.  I resolved to put on a 7027210 Carter Quadrajet and keep it non A.I.R. for that and other reasons.

By the way, the 7027210 is dated C7 (March 67)
