Title: 1969 camaro wiper motor
Post by: wisemanz28 on June 26, 2014, 01:02:24 AM
After many years I've finally decided to fix my windshield washer pump, where would I find new seals? I'm pretty sure the piston o-ring is wore out.

That reminds me of a story of back when I was a Tech for a Chevy dealer in the early 70's.  I had a car that wouldn't pump fluid. First I tried a repair kit (which worked a lot of the time), but not this time.  So, I went to the parts window and asked the manager if he could get me the 'o' ring on the piston in the pump.  He looked at me and with a straight face said, "sure, I have a whole shelf full of them".  I told him I needed one and he brought me a box.  I opened the box and inside was a washer pump.  I told him all I wanted was the 'o' ring. at which point he looked at me and said "only way it comes".  That was 40 years ago ............ surely someone must make them now .............. maybe?
