Title: Is this paint color combo possible ?
Post by: nashville beth on June 05, 2014, 02:21:34 AM
Did any 68 Camaro convertibles come from the factory with red paint and a white top ?  And if it was equipped with a big block, would the tailpanel still be painted black ?
My convertible has red paint and a white top and I'm swapping in a BBC and want it to appear as original as possible.  I'm wondering if the black tailpanel will look bad with a white top and white stripes.    ???

So you're saying a red Camaro with white convertible top could be ordered and it would not come with the blacked-out tailpanel ?  Even if it's a big block car ?

No he said you could get a red convertible with a white top, and it would have a blacked out tail panel if it had a big block.

2 questions were presented. 2 answers were provided. Is this clearer?

My girlfriend pointed out that she asked 3 questions... She was wondering...

Kurt answered the factual parts, left the wondering up to the owner.

BTW A good friend had a 67 BB conv Bolero Red white top bumblebee and pins with the black tail pan, it looked great!

IMHO dual exh out the back chrome tips etc are what ruin the lines of the 67-68's, it ruins the stock appearance and the way the quarters taper to the tail. .

Hey thanks guys !  I will proceed with blacking out the tailpanel.  And if anyone has pics of a Camaro painted like this I would love to see them.

Thanks again.

That combination doesn't seem unusual to me.

WOW, that DOES look good !!  The black tailpanel gives it a "mean" look.

Thanks !  ;D

Confirmed with an English expert. That was not phrased as a question and is not a question. It is a 'musing'. Could be amusing too.

Anyway, the color combo will work fine.
