What works best to re-bond the thin walnut grained console shift plate insert to the shift plate ?
Thanks guys,

You can use a contact adhesive such as ados F2.
You can get a smallish tube about half the size of a tube of toothpaste from a hobby store or a hardware store.
Apply to both surfaces and smear about with a flat stick to get a thin coat then wait till they "tack off", then put them together.
You probably wont need to completely cover the plate, the old glue residue should give you a clue as to how much is needed.
WARNING....... you will get one chance so make sure it is lined up correctly.
I hope that helps

Weatherstrip adhesive will also work.

3M emblem adhesive always works extremely well....

Using reproduction parts, I tried weatherstrip adhesive and it did not hold for long. I ended up using a little JB weld.
