This last Saturday the Columbia River Camaro Club out of the Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA area had is its annual Memorial/Anniversary cruise. this year we cruised up to Mt St Helens and in total almost did 300 miles of driving. Took my 68 instead of my 4th gen. We had every generation present and had a blast. here are some pics from the event and a dash cam time lapse from a members car.

What a great turn out, BUT whats with the dodge truck right in the middle of that great pic???
-
:).. the Dodge truck owner is probably the president of the club, who has his camaro torn apart in his garage at home.. :)
PS. With a club, you never tell someone they can't participate just because their 'marque of choice' isn't being driven that day! :)
-
Well this is about as close as i have been to being a member of a club. I understand you want everyone to participate just thought it was funny to have the truck right in the middle of the pic, i would have thought you could of put the truck in the back is all.
-
Clubs are good.. you should find one! :) and based on your love for several marques (and older cars), I'd recommend a local AACA club... :)
and yes, I agree.. If I'd been driving the dodge truck at a Camaro event, I'd have parked at the back.. :) Note: I've driven Corvettes to Porsche club road tours, and I always get on the back.. (but when we stop for lunch, I tell them it's so I can pick up the parts that fall off from the porsches... :) )

Does anyone know the guy with the blue 68 RS in the first picture? I thought I saw that car at Papa's Toys a few years back.
-
The blue 68 RS is my car and I've been going to papas toys for years. The dodge is a members car that has his camaro down and has a few medical problems that doing a long drive like we did not much fun in his camaro.
-
understood, thanks
-
I've seen you there and talked to you about 2 or 3 years ago. I had my 68Z British green there. Was a real warm day.
-
I like the photos great turn out of cars, best part is they are all drivers!
-
I've probably talked to you or at least seen your car. I'm always looking at Z/28s. Have you ever attended goodguys puyallup with your Z? I remember talking to a guy that had a early 68 Z/28 in green on year at night on the fairgrounds. I was with my grandfather. We talked for awhile about the Z28

The only alternative to being a 'driver' is..... not running... :)
-
??? ???not really, they could all be trailer queens, and "drive" up and down the trailer. They could run but not be reliable enough for a longer trip like that. There is quite a few categories a car can fit into in regard to how well it is running.... 8)
-
All my cars and family's cars are drivers except for one. It's a trailer baby for at least another year. Almost all of the clubs camaros are drivers we have only 1 show car that I can think of in the club.
-
Love that drive! I know you had a great time!
Hey, Bullitt65, look HERE. (http://www.aaca.org/Community/regions-a-chapters.html) There are plenty of chapters and regions in CA.

I started taking my granddaughter to meets when she was two....

If only I had only 1 child to take care of (and provide car seats for) . With 4 kids (and thier activities) it pretty much limits me to just local car shows. But as they get older we will see.

My grandpa did that basically the day I was out of the hospital. Whole reason I'm addicted to old cars.

My daughters still tell new friends that they never went on a family vacation that wasn't to a car convention.. (which was true).. then they tell of riding on a pallet in the back of my P/U (with camper shell)... and sharing the bed with *parts* on the way home.. :)
