I'll dig out my original and compare fonts. Looks awfully deep and consistent stamping, but at first glance it looks good. Caveat emptor, as all of these things are nowadays -

I've seen a few 'new' housings on Delco alternators (in the parts stores) without any stamps at all..  If someone had the capability to do the stamps correctly, I think they would look exactly like this alternator... (with the small incorrect pulley)..

Is the metal between the front and back halfs gold cad plated like the pulley nut? If it is, that might be a clue to it's origin or at least the internal parts.

I have dealt with this vendor in the past and never had any reasons to believe, or ever found, he is selling re-stamps.

Same here. If I'm not mistaken that is Chicago Corvette. Graygracy is just their Ebay site. I've always had good luck with them and they seem to know there stuff.

Here's mine for comparison. Wouldn't the first for numbers be the same on all alternators?

Good eyes ! If it is indeed a complete front and back half, original, it would have the boss and a tapped hole for the support bracket -

Change any opinions ? My opinion is now worse than the perfect stamping caused.

Attached is a photo of the stamping on my alternator...   25Aug date for a 09C car (17Sep prod)..
I can easily make photographs of any other part of the alternator you might want to see.. let me know...
