I saw a picture of john Z engine and noticed that the hose off the vac advance on the distributor goes to the carb and I am confused. I thought it went to the metal tube that is capped so it seems on John Z picture of his engine??

Those are two different setups - one for (correct) showing with the original vacuum advance connected to the "ported" spark port on the carb base (top photo), and one for driving, with the vacuum advance connected to the full manifold vacuum source hose that feeds the choke pull-off diaphragm via the tee that originally fed the diverter valve diaphragm (bottom photo).

No 1st-Gen Camaro had EGR, but the L-78 had a clip for the PCV hose that mounted under the right front carb nut.

Yes PVC, Thanks for the correction.

John,
Did the PVC Hose bracket come on a 69 Z28 also.

Nope - it was only used on the L-78.

Assembly manual shows it for the L78. Bracket is mounted to the valve cover to hold the tube

Are you referring to the PCV hose bracket for L78? As John mentioned its attached to the right side carb nut.
