I met Barb Hamilton during a Gasser meet at Thompson a few years ago ,research the name per 41 Willis. Very cool lady!   Not your stereotypical great-grandmas.

First woman to have NHRA license, not Shirley M. She was first to hold top fuel. And not so much the sweet woman in Heart Like a Wheel ,so I'm told.

She lives in the same town where my 69 Camaro was sold new, Plymouth Michigan. Must be some fountain of youth in that town, I have seen a handful of unrestored cars all from that town, and there original owners still driving them around. Good stuff

Cool car for sure !!!  This  story reminds me of a lady a few years ago.  Its funny how the women always ends up with the nice toys. I'm  assuming, it was her husbands car to begin with.

Three or four years ago, I met a lady showing an 57 Ford vert. (what a beast of a car).  She said, that she was showing the car for her deceased husband. He had started restoring the car and passed away before it was complete.  She finished restoring the car, and was showing the car in her husband memory.  Quite sure my wife want be following that woman's lead !!!!

Maybe i will start installing trailer hitches on all my vehicles, so my wife can just tow my casket along with her to the car shows when I kick the bucket...

Mini van...kids are grown so no time soon, we're empty nesters ! Do like our AWD Freestyle though. paid off. I joke , but I also  like Mustangs. My wife would love an early convertible, not out of the future. Matter of fact ,other than the Z and the Anglia ( bowtie powered, English Ford) a lot of Fords grace my property ??? But I got as many chevy engines and 350 trans on pallets. Oh Oh, post will probably be deleted !

I put together an early (65) Mustang convertible, which she liked. BUT as soon as my uncle told me his mostly unrestored 65 fastback was going to be for sale, I got the initial "OK" from my wife, sold the convertible, and picked up the fastback. She likes the fastback alright, BUT anytime someone has a minivan she praises them. OH, and let me mention she has never even driven a minivan, the closest she has come is riding in the passenger seat when we are vacation.
We currently have a 2000 Chevy Tahoe that has 215,000 miles on it, the LS1 runs like champ, I can pull the enclosed car trailer with it, It has a AWD option,  and has 4WD if you need it, fits our whole family (6).
The minivan isn't going to be able to do all that, and I am not sure how many miles people are putting on their minivans before some major engine/trani work.
" Come on!"

I agree.
I have just under 400k on my 2002 2WD Chevy Silverado pickup 5.3 that I still drive daily and have pulled an enclosed trailer most of those miles.  Have never done anything major to engine, trans or rear. I purchased it new. If I make it to 500k I thought about seeing if GM would use it in a commercial.  :)

Cool Story!
I really enjoyed the story a few years ago of a WWII veteran who had purchased a new 1957 corvette but sold it in 2011 (think that was it) to a guy who had a car collection and a new Chevrolet dealership. The gentlemen who had the 57 and sold it received a new C6 Z06 and it showed him driving it. That's what I want to do when I'm in my 90's......
