All, what is the best adhesive product to install the roofrail weather strip channels above the windows? A wide flat foam type strip is what came off of it originally.
Thoughts?

I am sure some of the "body work" guys could give a more specific brand or part number, but I just did a search the other day regarding this and found a seal on this site: http://www.heartbeatcitycamaro.com/store/product/21863/Camaro-Roofrail-molding-install-tape-1967-1968-1969/

Use single sided adhesive thin foam tape, not the double faced(D/F) tape in that Heartbeat link. Vendors will describe anything as being correct and people will buy it. In their description they don't know the difference between width and thickness either. The weatherstrip channel is adjusted to the windows after window installation, Heartbeat's 3M D/F tape won't allow any adjustment. Foam tape can be purchased at any hardware store, 3M D/F tape at any jobber.

Inline tube sells a ket as well - not sure how many sides is the adhesive, but it looks to be the most correct stuff

Dragging this thread back up since I found a great product when working on my 69 Camaro. The foam backing on my roof rail weatherstrip channel was still in pretty good shape on most of my pieces so they will be re-used. One piece needed replaced in entirety, one other needed patched. I found a product through Amazon that was as close to an identical match as possible - I honestly can't tell the difference. Why I obsess over stuff that will never be seen is unexplainable, :confused2: but I know others in this hobby are the same way. So here a few pics of the product and what it looks like on the piece I patched and a piece that I replaced completely. Hope this helps other OCD guys:)
