Title: Aftermarket 69 Vinyl Top Moldings
Post by: ko-lek-tor on April 07, 2014, 07:17:44 PM
Can anyone give an opinion on how good (accurate) the aftermarket stainless vinyl top moldings are? Is there one brand or vendor I should look for over another? Anyone have extra rear pieces (2) they can spare? I seem to be missing a piece(1) on rear will have to check which side.

Well as luck would have it, I stumbled on to a parts car. I think it can be bought right (like $500). It has the vinyl top moldings in the trunk I need. I did not inspect each one, but the car has a lot of small pieces that I saw as usable. It is (was) a 6 cyl auto console car w/pwr. strg. Z23 and X11. Looks like a Feb build Nor. car. VIN and Tag are gone, no title. Has good roof, firewall and outer firewall kick panels (some call them tulip panels). I'm thinking I can get what I need and sell roof and other parts and break even. Carpet looks like it might be savable too.Anyway, Might have some moldings coming my way. Guy has repro vert. rockers and full trunk pan and frame rails too also trunk drop offs. Only drawback, they (Frame and trunk) have some hacking from a mini tub attempt and have a few spot welds from a mock up. He said he would take 1/2 catalog price. DII is the brand. Thoughts appreciated on how to proceed.
