Title: Deluxe Door Panel Repair 69

My Deluxe interior door panel has a crack in the arm rest. Can it be repaired? Has anyone had experience with doing this? I have heard a lot of cons about the replacement panels. I am a long way from getting to this part of resto, but thought I would do my homework now.Also lower carpet was ate up by a rat. This can be replaced successfully and reasonably, right? Or should I just look for another panel?

Yes the carpet is pretty easy, to fix the crack you first must clean the panels VERY WELL!!!
If you use a white cloth and get traces of dirt KEEP Cleaning, the pair I recently cleaned and repaired were so dirty I thought the grain was worn off in the arm rest area however it was years of dirt and grease which had filled the grain.

How big is the crack?
Gives James' method a try. I've cleaned several old interiors with good results.

Repair it if you can.  The carpet is easier to replace than you think and comes out nice.
