I need more info, I have a 67 special ordered coupe, 327/275hp 4 speed, all matchng #s however the trans seems to be out of place? It is cast Iron, with a number of 197201365 Cast #9052 GM NFC2 Any help on this one? The car was built in Van Nuys

I'd think a 275hp car sould have a Muncie, but I'm no numbers guru. Somebody will know! Good luck.

Well Bigb, those numbers don't seem to correspond to anything I can find, but if it's a Saginaw 4 speed transmission, it would be "correct" for your car. For 1967, the only Camaro's that came with a Muncie 4 speed would be the 350 and 396 engines. All 327's came with a Saginaw (if ordered with a 4 speed). Are there any other numbers cast into the transmission?

A Z/28 had a muncie in 1967 as well.

Look on pages 280 and following of Colvins, BY THE NUMBERS, 65-69, when you do find the numbers. Ed is right. It should be a cast iron Saginaw in a 327/275. But the numbers you gave aren't...
