Orphans - documentation or VIN-stamped drivetrains - in search of the original cars => 1969 - Orphans => Topic started by: z28z11 on March 07, 2014, 04:13:07 AM

I didn't know this car had been sold and moved from the area until I Googled the VIN. I have dealer invoice, MSO, title copies back to original owner in '69. Knew the car back to '86, drove it in '89 before I moved from the area where the car owner and I lived.
Documents released only to verfied current car owner -

Steve, that car is in the database. You should contact Kurt or Ed to see if they have the current owner's contact information.

Paul,
Thanks for the reply. I sent a PM to both Kurt and Ed last night to try and track down the current owner. Also posted on the forum on Camaros.net - hopefully the owner will see it. This kind of documentation is tough to come by these days -

Hello all. I'm new to the group. I own 124379N641261 - bought it this past March. I was doing some research on this car when I found this thread (and am really happy I did). I have a warranty transfer POP (VIN but no option codes) and a original title from the '70s (second owner). I'd love to get hold of any additional documentation on the car. Please let me know what information you need from me.
Many thanks,
Pat

Pat,
Welcome to the CRG - I've been hoping that the current owner would surface one day.
I have known this car for a long time as I mentioned before - inspected and drove it many years ago, pre-restoration. The car had been stored for a long time, locally, before the owner finally decided to sell it. I had offered to buy it myself at least twice in the '90's, but it never came to pass. I would love to know the trail of ownership since the Mecum auction in 2010 - kinda lost track of it after it went to Connecticut for a brief ownership.
I'll send you a PM with specifics - document your ownership of the car, and you'll have the documentation you need for the car. No strings attached -
Regards,
Steve
(apologize for the poor quality of the picture - my car phone was not eqipped with a camera in 1989 !)

Thanks Steve. Will contact you shortly.

Great that the connection was finally made!
Steve, thanks for having the patience and just waiting.
I'd like to see that invoice some time. No hurry. :)

Congratulations Pat, and nice work Steve! This kind of story should give us all hope that our car's docs may turn up one day.

A quick update: Steve and I connected and the documents are on their way. CRG is great! Thanks all.
