I am doing the body on a 69 for a friend and when I got it it was completely taken apart, now I want to put the trunk springs in to hold the lid up and I have no idea how they go, can anyone help me with a picture maybe? Thanks in advance!

The reason I'd ask about the spoiler is if you want the trunk to pop up with the added weight of the spoiler you need to set the Left spring on the end slot. The right spring needs to be in the middle slot.

Yes, it does - that's the quickest way to spot an "added" spoiler. On a non-spoiler car, both deck lid torsion rods are .225" in diameter; on a factory spoiler car, one rod is .275" in diameter, to raise and hold open the deck lid with the added weight of the spoiler.

That is true but if you added the spoiler you need to adjust the rods for the lid to pop up. I should have ask him.

Which vendors carry both diam. springs? Many only show one diam. choice.

I believe AMES (Pontiac vendor) sells the spoiler springs for the firebird. Probably the same spring, don't know the quality of the reproduction.

I have a 1969 Z/28 with a non-factory D80 rear spoiler installed. I have purchased the larger diameter torsion rod but have no idea the best or easiest way to remove the existing rod(s) or install the new rod. Can someone describe the process and possibly include photos?
