Title: Seam sealer

Any recommendations on which sealer to use. Some reviews say the Eastwood never cured or the two part was to watery. 3M Fast and Firm or is there something else. Brush on or caulking gun application? I'm not looking for original factory look, just a good seal.

I always use a caulk gun then use a piece of cardborard to do the spread look.  It takes a little practice but once you get it down it should look pretty good.  Practice on a old piece before moving to the real thing.   ;)

Try using a latex glove and finger to smooth the caulked joint out and then use a flux brush to lightly stroke it out one directional.

Thanks guys, techniques are always helpful. What I am more interested in is what brand of sealer anyone might recommend.

I used 3M, caulking gun application. Sets up perfectly - looks like factory sealer to me. I have always looked to use 3M products when I can - pretty reliable stuff. Plus, it's usually available through many different outlets -

3M was used on our 68Z restoration.

Fast & Firm is garbage, gets brittle and cracks. That's what shops used eons ago before urethane sealers entered the profession. If you do not have a gun for 2 part sealer, Lord Fusor 800EZ is a quality product and tools nicely.

Ditto the Lord Fusor X2, that stuff is great, I love and it does not flash off real fast.
