Title: Dash code
Post by: Bertrum on November 11, 2005, 06:41:40 PM
Hello all. I am beging to restore my high school car. I have owned it since 76 and has been in the garage for 20 years.
It is a 67 convertable rs with 327/210hp. It is white with a bright blue nose stripe. I have been trying to decode the cowl tag
and am a little confused. there are only three dashes on the tag. 732-Z, C-1 and Los- 2184. Are any of these the dash code for the blue stripe? If not was it probably painted at the dealer? There is no black paint uder the stripe. Could the car have come with the stripe deleted? Thanks for any help.

Default stripe for your car would have been none.
From the info you've posted, it could be that someone ordered a convertible and then added the blue nose stripe, ala the pacecars. Your car was built after the pacers were available and maybe someone still wanted one.....

Can you post a picture of the cowl tag or send it to me? Also, what's the VIN?
