Title: Out sick.
Post by: 69Z28 on January 26, 2014, 04:16:11 AM
Hey guys, whats new?...it's been a while since I last posted. Been out sick for the past few months or so with bronchitis and then pneumonia and back to bronchitis again and finally getting to the point of wanting to mess with my computers again. I hope everybody had a good Christmas and New Years, mine was in bed. Now I have some catching up to do so bare with me. I gotta do a search to see where I left off and I'll pick up from there. Feels great to breath again.

Glad to see that you are feeling better.  I know how you feel....I came down with the "Whooping Cough" the first weekend in October and I still have some side effects.  When I went through the bad coughing phase, I thought I would never get well again.

Thanks guys...is it bear or is it bare? or something else altogether? I only 'bare/bear' to my wife and she runs when I do that...just kidding. Still not well though as much as I would like to be. Have to see a lung doctor next week. Still not getting full lung capacity and my oxygen intake level is way low. I wheeze all the time. Since I came to Delaware in 74 I have had nothing but upper respiratory problems. I tried to get my wife to move back with me to Atlanta were I am from, but when I took her there for a visit, she said hell no, this place scares me. Never had any problems in Georgia growing up.

Thanks guys...Went thru several different antibiotics which didn't help and finally was given Prednisone yesterday. I can breath but boy does it hurt. I had chest x-rays a few weeks ago thinking I was having an issue with TB which I somehow contracted from somebody while in the air force stationed at Dover AFB back in 79, but all was good there. I had to take two types of drugs then for a full year without missing a day, which turned into a year and a half after I did miss some days. It's considered "inactive" now since 1982. Thank God for that.

I don't know much about what allergies are like in other places in the states, but if I leave this region I'm good, no issues. Been to all the states in the south, been to Louisiana to California with no issues ever, but when I get back to Delaware, or this region, it just messes with me bad. Even went to Europe, England mainly, for 3 years with nary a problem.  I've been getting shots since 1976 just to keep my health. Can't have a dog, but we do, it's my wife's, cats are the worse. When I'm around one of those little rascals inside my nose just swells shut. Its funny, my wife and I have had all kinds of animals from ferrets to fish and it's rough for me but I deal with it because my wife is the true animal lover. If she had her way we would have those little potbelly pigs and all that farm stuff, which is where she has spent all her life...on a dairy farm here in Clayton. For years I just laughed about it but it is taking it's toll now. We have one medium size hairy dog left now that's about a hundred years old that looks like a bear and when shes gone that's it for me.

Welcome back, hope you find a way to continue to feel better.  I dealt with Bronchitis for years, and I smoked, and worked in a Tire factory (very smoky environment).  I quit smoking 29 years ago and it improved tremendously, but the best thing I ever did was retire from that Tire factory.  8 years ago already, ( had 35 1/2 yrs.) how time flies.  I have to say though, that financially, it was a very good job.

It's probably all the "pollution" from the politicians in DC.

Never thought of that, that's funny...the wind does blow from that direction...but it (the wind) does funnel right over the Delaware valley from north, south, and west to east 24/7. Check out the weather channel and look closely at how and where the wind funnels...it's right over the peninsula where Delaware and Maryland are and then exits out into the Atlantic.
