Hi,
I have a 67 SS/RS and is confused about the Trim Tag Info, as from the records no L78 came With TH400 in 67 although mine has one
My Trim Tag info:
10A K741
ST 67-12637 LOS- 3346 BODY
TR 765-Y M-M PAINT
EX 2ZGPR 3SL
4K 5BY
I can not understand the " 2ZGPR " beeing other than TH400 With a console and rear speakers and the "4K" beeing a L78 ? What about the letter "P", this is not described in CRG database to my knowledge.I am able to decode the rest by CRG info, thanks !
Any help is appreciated if there actually was L78 delivered With a TH400 in 67, or the Trim Tag may be a fake of course, have no other documents for the car.
Best regards Joern Amundsen (e-mail : joern.amundsen@online.no )

As per sales literature the '67 L78 was standard only with a 3 speed B-W or 4 speed Muncie. Post a pic of the trim tag for evaluation (be advised it will be public info then).

I'm sorry to have to report this Joern, but yes, your trim tag is a reproduction (aka fake). The L78 engine wasn't even available that early in production, and like Mike said, when it became available later in the model year, it was only available with the HD 3 speed or the Muncie 4 speed. And more bad news. Your car didn't start out life as a big block. Only small block and 6 cylinder engines were available during tht time frame.

Also, looking at the options listed in the Group 2 location (2 GZPR), according to CRG ( http://www.camaros.org/numbers.shtml#67Codes ) the 'Z' was for NOR build cars and this one in discussion is from LOS, which should be 'M', assuming it was an L35.
That has to be a sinking feeling inside to know something isn't Kosher. :'(

As I expected, car has NOM 427 and New transmission as well, but it still is a joy to drive !

I remember your car. I believe Jim Stubbins (Heartbeat City) built it. Last time I saw it, it had a L89 in it.
Is the code on the tag K471 or K741?
