Almost completly original. 62,500 miles. Tuxedo black on red. Was re-sprayed approx. 20 years ago. Very nice in, out, and mechanically. 11E LOS .I plan to simply preserve this beauty, so that's where I would appreciate some expert advice. Since it is not the original paint, a re-paint in the spring is the only thing I plan to do. Any tips on finding the right shop would be great! I have recently moved to Salt Lake City after almost 30 years in San Diego, and do not know any shops in the greater SLC area qualified to touch my new find. I'm not looking for that" better than factory" look, just want as close to the original laquer as I can get ,but with modern paint. Any help would be much appreciated. Tim.

Sounds like a great find, and beautiful (and rare) color combo... The black lends itself very nicely to a single stage urethane paint.. which can be cut and polished to appear much like a high-end lacquer paint job, but much more durable.
Sorry I can't help with SLC painter recommendations...

Thanks for the help. I've learned more in 2 weeks from this site than in 39 years of camaro interest. My first car at the age of 16 was a 67 SS350 4 spd. Deepwater blue on black early Van Nuys car that I drove for 3 years and raced on weekends at Bonneville Raceway Park in E.T. bracket. I'm still proud of owning that car for 3 years, driving it every day, including in many blizzards, and not one accident. Just lucky,I guess.
