Title: air cleaner riser
Post by: sbmiano on December 26, 2013, 05:17:39 PM
I have been informed that 1969 z 28's had a riser on the air cleaner.  My question is where does it fit in?  You have the air cleaner body, then the flange that fits into the air cleaner then the seal attaches to the flange.  This is the way it is now.
With the riser, ??? does that eliminate the flange and the seal attaches to the riser?  or does the riser go into the air cleaner body then the flange with the seal attached to it?

Hope I explained it correctly lol

Thanks for the responses!javascript:void(0);

It is officially known as an extension and is shown in section ZL2 page A3 in the 1969 Camaro Assembly Instruction manual. It fits into the air cleaner body; the flange/seal assembly mounts on top of it.
