Title: 67 Z28 sold at auction last weekend?
Post by: 69Z28-RS on October 26, 2013, 05:15:46 PM
http://www.bransonauction.com/node/3461

The link is for a 'restored' '67 Z28 (restoration aided by Jerry M. per the ad), that sold at auction in Branson MO last weekend.  Does anyone have any further info on this car?  Or what it sold for at auction?

OK down 20K from what though? What is the going rate on one in driver condition with the original motor?

1967's are the most rare, and lightest of the early Z28's and perhaps has more 'racing heritage' than the other years?... and this one was supposedly restored with the help (or consultation?) of Jerry McNeish...

"thanks captain obvious" I read the auction, and I am aware of the production numbers. ;D
All humor aside, even with the low production numbers I have seen a handful sell in the past for around 60k. I have seen guys ask 115k, but I have not seen one pull crazy money. I have more than a casual interest, and would like to purchase one, but it would have to be the right one of corse. I have talked to over a dozen guys who have had them or found them and were putting one together, a lot of conversations, that had me thinking re stamp block while on the phone for one reason or another. I just wasn't sure if any other CRG members like Danny had a basis like another recent sale behind his comment is all.

I await the sale price or no sale price of this one, just to see where the NOM market on a 67 Z is.

Regardless of production numbers the 69's are the more popular of the 3 which is why they "typically" draw more money.  67's falling 2nd.  In todays market it is coming down to if there is more than one person interested in a car on what its value will bring.  Obviously chances are higher for a 69 to sale for bigger money due to the popularity factor.  I would estimate that a 67 Z without a NOM engine would be in the 50-100K range.  Why such a large range?  Mainly due to the fact the market is very roller coaster right now on these cars.  More than one bidder on the same car will certainly raise the price.  The other wild card in this is you do not see as many 67 Z's go up for sale as often so this could potentially raise the price as well.  I am curious; as many here, as to what the hammer price will be for this car.

I had a chance to buy one 4 years ago matching for 60K. It was however not all put together. I talked to Jim at HBC about it just during a regular conversation. And he looked at all the pictures. Said it was pretty nice but had some paint finish issues throughout. I don't remember what else. Heck, he may have bought it, I don't know. But just last year I seen one for 130K. So who really knows... Danny

Exactly, they were ASKING 130K. So who knows if that one ever sold and for how much. It was an RS if I remember. No matter it's long gone I'm sure. ... Danny

All the classic car price guides that I have seen always show 67 Z's worth Much more than 68 or 69.

Hemmings daily information had a short article on the '67 Z and that auction today (see Link); not a lot more details, but did include Hemming's writer attitudes about the car, as well as a few other prices.   I'd been interested in the two Nomads they had listed, but didn't find out about the auction until 2 days after it completed.. and I still haven't received the full auction results from Branson Auctions.

A little misinformation, some incorrect items... the seller should be very happy.
