Title: 1969 15" Trim Rings
Post by: Dusk Blue Z on October 22, 2013, 06:18:10 PM
I have searched and found out there were three designs for the 15" trim rings. The first is with the 4 outside clips, then 2 designs with full circumference internal clips. I would like to find out what date were the 4 clips were used till, and what is acceptable for Legends Judging. My car is a 5A and has 2 of each style? Thanks.

Mike

my 08C car had both styles that came with it. I know the owner purchased a couple in the 70's as replacements, so maybe my car had the 4 clip design, and the 2 replacements were the later style over the counter style? I am not sure if they were inter-changed or if there was a hard date.

good link, I thought it sounded familiar. Seems like even the later cars still had the 4 clip design from that thread

From the input it looks like the 4 clips were installed at the factory most if not all of the production cycle.

What would be correct in Legends judging? Any input from judges or someone who has gone through the process? Thanks.
